Who we are
Wood Lathe World, at www.woodlatheworld.com, is operated from the United States by the Wood Lathe World Editorial Team. This policy covers only what really happens on the site today.
For privacy questions, email privacy@woodlatheworld.com.
What information is involved
The site sells nothing and has no user accounts, no paid memberships and no newsletter. Comments are turned off. That means we hold no passwords, order records or payment details. The information that does exist is:
- Server logs. The web host keeps standard logs showing IP address, browser type and the pages requested.
- Contact messages. A message sent through the contact form is delivered by email to our editorial inbox. We don’t use the form data for anything else.
- Search data. We use Google Search Console to see how the site appears in Google Search. It does not place cookies on your browser.
The site shows no display ads at the moment, and it sets no analytics cookies of its own.
Why we use it, and for how long
- Logs help keep the site secure and help us fix technical problems.
- Emails let us read and answer what you send.
- Search Console data shows which pages appear in search and whether something is broken.
We keep each kind of information only as long as it serves that purpose, or as long as the host’s routine log handling keeps it.
Cookies and affiliate links
The site itself sets no analytics cookies. Affiliate links are different. When you click one, the store or network may set its own cookie to credit the referral.
Our affiliate network is Amazon, which has its own privacy policy. We don’t control it, so please read it to learn what Amazon collects. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains the links.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not build reader profiles. The small amount of information described above is used only for the purposes listed.
Links to other sites
Our articles link to stores and other websites. Once you leave Wood Lathe World, that site’s own policies apply.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us something, tell us at the privacy address and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your U.S. state, you may be able to ask what personal information a business holds about you, or ask for it to be deleted.
- Email privacy@woodlatheworld.com with your request.
- Tell us what you are asking for and how to reply.
- We hold little, and we will say honestly what we can and can’t do. Some data, like server logs, sits with our web host.
If you write to us about a privacy request, we may need to ask a question or two to understand what you are asking for. We will keep that exchange to what is needed.
Security
We rely on our web host’s standard security measures. No website is perfectly secure, and we don’t claim ours is.
Changes
If our practices change, we will update this page and its date. See also our Terms of Service.
